Dallas-Fort Worth motels and hotels have shown
strong signs of recovery from the recession downturn in early 2000,
then the attack of “9/11” which had an effect on travel
until the 2004. Through 2005 to year-end 2008, RevPar and Occupancy
have continued to improve. Year-end 2009’s total revenue was
down significantly for all DFW hospitality operations. Announced
developments have been put on hold and may have to wait for travel
to return. The City of Dallas may build a convention hotel to attract
more business to the region.
